THIS LITTLE LIGHT

This little LED light in my small rechargeable fan has been doing its job as a power indicator ever since I started using the fan. I didn’t really give much attention to it until one day when we had a blackout due to a super typhoon.

The fan of course was of much help to give me cool air, but this small light literally shone so bright that it helped me see the things around it. Not only that, but it also gave me hope that even a bulb as small as this LED indicator can actually shine so bright in the darkest night.

What if this light will decide not to light up because it is so dark? What if it will think about saving its power because there is no electricity? What if it will say that it is tired of shining for a long time?

But no, this little light continued to shine, and even brighter when the night was at its darkest.

This light though, can only continue to shine so bright if it continues to rely on its source of power from the battery.

This light taught me the most valuable lesson in life. It was dark and gloomy. It was hot and uncomfortable. It was disappointing and disheartening. But, I thought, I had to keep my “light” on for my family, my friends, and my colleagues.

Friends, this is the reason that we live. This is the reason that we are where we are. To keep our lights “on”, not for people to see us but for people to see the source of our power and proclaim that the Savior is our only source of life.

Have you been shining where you are?

Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that “You are the light of the world.” Your light should not be hidden and cannot be hidden like a city on a hill that can be seen from afar.

Proverbs 4:18 The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday.

John 8:12 Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life."
